- Geographic restrictions: Must purchase a deed-restricted affordable property within the City of Newton.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Newton Homebuyer Assistance Program
Step 1: Assistance is available when deed-restricted affordable homes are actively listed for sale in Newton.
Step 2: Complete a First Time Homebuyer Course.
Step 3: Monitor the City of Newton's Current Affordable Housing Opportunities page for available units.
Step 4: Apply through the affordable housing lottery for an eligible property.
Step 5: If selected, apply for downpayment and closing cost assistance through the City's Housing & Community Development office.
