How to Apply for Oakland Housing Authority Homeownership Voucher Program
Step 1: Must be an eligible Oakland Housing Authority resident. Attend a homeownership orientation and education course. Select a home and secure your own mortgage financing through a lender. Your housing subsidy is then applied toward your monthly mortgage payment. Email Homeownership@oakha.org to be added to the interest list.
Notes
Program allows Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher holders to use their housing subsidy toward a mortgage payment instead of rent. Residents contribute 30-40% of income toward their mortgage.
