Forgivable 5-year mortgage that reduces at a rate of 20% per year. No payments required as long as the homebuyer resides in the home for 5 years.

  • Income limits: Household income up to 120% of Area Median Income
  • First-time buyer required: No
  • Geographic restrictions: Must have lived in Pinellas County during Hurricanes Idalia, Helene, and/or Milton. Excludes City of St. Petersburg residents. Home must be purchased outside of flood zones.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for Pinellas Recovers Homebuyer Assistance Program

Step 1: Applications are processed on a first-come, first-processed basis. Applicant must obtain a first mortgage commitment for a minimum 30-year fixed-rate mortgage. Applicant cannot own another home. Visit recover.pinellas.gov to apply.

Funded through Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program. Assistance may be prioritized for applicants with direct hurricane impact. Verify current funding availability with Pinellas County.
