Eligibility

  • Income limits: At or below 80% of Area Median Income
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years.
  • Geographic restrictions: San Angelo city limits only. Applicants must have been San Angelo residents for at least one year or currently employed with a local San Angelo business, City of San Angelo, Tom Green County, or SAISD.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for City of San Angelo Homebuyer Assistance Program (HAP)

Step 1: Contact City of San Angelo Community Development at (325) 655-0824. Must complete homebuyer education course, provide minimum $500 earnest money, and be approved for a mortgage through a participating lender such as The Mortgage Link, Pinnacle Bank, HomeTown Lenders, or Trans Texas Southwest Credit Union.
