- Income limits: At or below 120% of Area Median Income (AMI)
- First-time buyer required: No
- Geographic restrictions: Must purchase in Windham or Windsor County, VT.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Windham & Windsor Housing Trust Shared Equity Program
Step 1: Complete a homebuyer education workshop offered by the Windham & Windsor Housing Trust Homeownership Center (available in person and via Zoom). Meet with a homeownership counselor for 1:1 counseling to discuss down payment assistance eligibility. Get pre-approved for a mortgage through a local lender. Find an eligible home and apply for the shared equity grant.
Notes
WWHT has over 147 homes in its shared equity portfolio. New open-market purchases depend on available funding. Resales of existing portfolio homes also become available periodically.
