Voucher subsidy applied toward monthly mortgage payments for up to 15 years. No time limit for elderly or disabled participants.

Eligibility

  • Income limits: Must meet Housing Choice Voucher Program income requirements. Minimum yearly income of $14,500 required.
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years.
  • Geographic restrictions: York County, PA.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for York Housing Authority HCV Homeownership Program

Step 1: Must be a current Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) participant. At least one adult must have been employed full-time for the past year (waived for elderly/disabled). Must not be within the first year of the HAP contract. Must complete the First Time Home Buyers Workshop sponsored by the Housing Alliance of York.
