Zero percent interest deferred loan with no monthly payments. Repayment is due upon sale, transfer, or at the end of 30 years, whichever comes first.

Eligibility

  • Income limits: At or below 100% of Area Median Income (AMI) based on household size
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home previously. First-time homebuyer status required.
  • Geographic restrictions: Must purchase a home in Anne Arundel County, MD. Must occupy the property as principal residence. Non-occupant co-borrowers are not permitted.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for Anne Arundel County Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP)

Step 1: Contact ACDS at 410-222-7600 to enroll in the free Homeownership Counseling Program (4 classes, 8 hours total, held virtually via Microsoft Teams). You must graduate from the counseling program before entering into a contract to purchase a home. After graduation, work with a participating lender to apply for the MAP loan alongside your first mortgage.

Notes

Can be used in conjunction with FHA and Maryland Mortgage Program loans. Graduation certificates from the ACDS Homeownership Counseling Program are valid for one year.
