Up to $80,000 (Deferred Loan)
Zero-interest deferred-payment second mortgage with no monthly payments. 15-year affordability period. If the homeowner stays in the property for at least 15 years, the loan is effectively forgiven. Due upon sale, refinance, or payoff of first mortgage before affordability period ends.

- Income limits: Household income at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI)
- Purchase price limit: $636,806
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years.
- Geographic restrictions: Property must be located in Broward County.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Broward County Homebuyer Purchase Assistance Program
Step 1: Complete a HUD-approved homebuyer education course. Work with an approved lender. Borrowers must contribute 1% of the down payment from personal funds and pay a $750 transaction fee to the Housing Finance Authority of Broward County. Contact the Broward County Housing Finance Division for current availability.

Higher assistance amounts up to $120,000 may be available in higher-cost areas such as Weston. Funding is limited and approval timelines are strict.
