Up to $120,000 based on financial need (Deferred Loan)
Forgiven after 15 years of continuous owner-occupancy. The loan is a 0% interest, deferred payment second mortgage with no monthly payments required.
Eligibility
- Income limits: Household income must not exceed 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) for Broward County, adjusted by family size.
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a residential property in the prior 3 years. Must use the purchased home as a primary residence.
- Geographic restrictions: Property must be located within the City of Weston city limits.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for City of Weston Homebuyer Purchase Assistance Program
Step 1: Obtain a mortgage pre-approval from a lender that meets Broward County guidelines. Complete a HUD-approved 8-hour homebuyer education course. Contact the Broward County Housing and Urban Planning Division at 954-357-4943 or visit Broward.org/Housing to begin the application process. The buyer must contribute at least 3% of the purchase price toward closing, of which up to 2% may come from a gift.
