How much assistance
Monthly Housing Choice Voucher assistance applied toward mortgage payments instead of rent (Grant)
Assistance continues for up to 15 years for non-elderly/non-disabled families or up to 30 years for elderly/disabled families, as long as eligibility requirements are met.
Eligibility
- Income limits: Must be a current Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) participant.
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must be a first-time homeowner as defined by HUD regulations.
- Geographic restrictions: Must purchase within Daytona Beach Housing Authority jurisdiction.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Daytona Beach Housing Authority HCV Homeownership Program
Step 1: Contact the Daytona Beach Housing Authority at HCV@dbhafl.org. You must be a current HCV participant, employed full-time (30+ hours/week) for at least one year, and able to provide a minimum 3% down payment (at least 1% from personal resources). Complete required homeownership and housing counseling.
Notes
This program allows existing Housing Choice Voucher participants to use their voucher toward homeownership instead of rental assistance. Employment requirement does not apply to elderly and disabled families.
