How to Apply
- Step 1:
Check your eligibility. Household income must be at or below 80% of the Area Median Income for Volusia County based on your household size, and you must not have owned a home in the past three years.
- Step 2:
Contact a local housing partner. Reach out to Homes Bring Hope at (386) 317-5767 or Mid-Florida Housing Partnership at (386) 274-4441 to begin a pre-screening and credit assessment.
- Step 3:
Complete homebuyer education. Enroll in a HUD-approved first-time homebuyer course through Mid-Florida Housing Partnership or another approved provider. Mid-Florida Housing Partnership holds classes via Zoom and can be reached at (386) 274-4441.
- Step 4:
Get pre-approved for a first mortgage. Work with a lender to determine how much home you can afford. If applying for the Florida Hometown Heroes program, use a participating Florida Housing Finance Corporation lender.
- Step 5:
Find an eligible home. For the City of Daytona Beach SHIP program, the home must be within Daytona Beach city limits with a purchase price of $258,690 or less.
