- Geographic restrictions: Must be employed full-time by a Florida-based employer in an eligible Hometown Heroes occupation. Property must be in Florida.

How to Apply for Florida Hometown Heroes Housing Program
Step 1: Contact a Florida Housing-approved lender to begin the application process. You must be employed full-time in an eligible occupation and meet income and credit requirements for your county.
Notes
Program opened August 18, 2025 with $50 million in funding for the 2025 cycle. Eligible occupations include first responders, healthcare professionals, teachers, childcare workers, social services, and skilled trades. Funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and may be fully committed quickly.
