  • Income limits: Household income at or below 80% of Area Median Income for Guilford County.
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years.
  • Geographic restrictions: Must purchase within Guilford County. Home must be used as primary residence.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for Guilford County Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance Program

Step 1: Contact Housing Consultants Group at 336-850-4040 for program information and to begin the application process. Applicants must have realtor representation. Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis during the grant period (July 1 through June 30).

Funded through the HUD HOME Investment Partnership Program. Administered by Housing Consultants Group on behalf of Guilford County. This is a county-level program separate from the City of Greensboro programs and can potentially be stacked with city DPA. The county financing cannot exceed 20% of the purchase price.
