Deferred payment loan due upon sale, transfer, refinance, or failure to occupy as primary residence. Must occupy as primary residence for 5-10 years depending on assistance amount.
Eligibility
- Income limits: At or below 80% AMI. Boston-Cambridge-Quincy area limits: up to $191,520 for 1-2 person households, up to $286,980 for 5+ persons.
- Purchase price limit: $606,000
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years. Exceptions for displaced homemakers and single parents.
- Geographic restrictions: Must purchase in Quincy, Braintree, Holbrook, or Weymouth.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for South Shore HOME Consortium First Time Homebuyer Program
Step 1: Contact the Quincy Office of Healthy Homes at (617) 376-1055 or quincyohh@quincyma.gov to begin the application process. You must complete an approved homebuyer education workshop. Assets cannot exceed $75,000.
Notes
Purchase price limit is $606,000 for existing units and $622,000 for new construction. The numeric field stores the existing unit limit.
