Eligibility

  • Income limits: At or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI)
  • First-time buyer required: Yes Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years.
  • Credit score minimum: 620
  • Geographic restrictions: Must be located in Tarrant County but outside city limits of Fort Worth, Arlington, and Grand Prairie.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for Tarrant County Homebuyer Assistance Program

Contact Housing Channel at (817) 924-5091 or counseling@housingchannel.org. Complete HUD-certified homebuyer workshop, provide income and asset documentation, and work with an approved lender. Minimum $1,500 borrower investment and two months mortgage payment reserves required. Liquid assets must be under $25,000.
