Up to $50,000 (Forgivable Loan)

Zero-interest, 15-year deferred loan. If the homeowner lives in the home for 15 years, the loan is fully forgiven.

Eligibility

  • Income limits: Household income must be between 1% and 80% of Area Median Income (AMI)
  • Purchase price limit: $327,750
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home within the last 3 years and cannot have previously received housing assistance from Volusia County.
  • Geographic restrictions: Home must be located within Volusia County. Excludes the city limits of Daytona Beach and Deltona. Eligible cities include Port Orange, Edgewater, Oak Hill, Pierson, and other unincorporated Volusia County areas.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for Volusia County Homebuyer Assistance Program

Step 1: Applications are accepted through an Affordable Housing Partner (AHP). Contact Volusia County Community Assistance at (386) 736-5955 or communityassistance@volusia.org to schedule a pre-screen appointment and get connected with an AHP.

Notes

Assistance breaks down to up to $44,000 for down payment and up to $6,000 for closing costs. Must have lived in Volusia County for at least 12 months before applying. Program details verified February 2025.
