How to Apply

  1. Step 1:

Check your eligibility. The City of Marietta program requires household income within HUD low-to-moderate income guidelines. The Cobb County My Home DPA has its own income and loan amount limits but does not require first-time buyer status. Visit georgiabuyerdpa.com/cobb for current Cobb County limits.

  2. Step 2:

Complete homebuyer education. Georgia Dream requires homebuyer education through a DCA-certified housing counseling agency or an online course through E-Home America. Call (800) 569-4287 to find a HUD-approved counselor near Marietta, or visit the HUB Georgia website at thehubga.org.

  3. Step 3:

Get pre-approved by a participating lender. For the Cobb County My Home DPA, you must use a Cobb County DPA participating lender. For Georgia Dream, use a Georgia Dream participating lender. The City of Marietta program also requires lender pre-approval before applying.

  4. Step 4:

Apply for the City of Marietta program. Contact the City of Marietta Community Development Department and submit your Homeownership Assistance Application along with your lender pre-approval documentation.

  5. Step 5:

Find a home within Marietta or Cobb County. The City of Marietta program requires the home to be within city limits. The Cobb County DPA covers all of Cobb County. The home must be your primary residence and occupied within 60 days of closing.

  6. Step 6:

Submit all program applications through your participating lender. Your lender will coordinate the Cobb County DPA and Georgia Dream applications. For ANDP assistance, contact ANDP directly at (404) 420-1600. For National Faith Homebuyers, call (678) 553-3770.
