Eligibility
- Income limits: Low to moderate income as defined by the Housing Finance Authority of Broward County
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a principal residence in the past 3 years prior to closing.
- Geographic restrictions: Home must be located in Broward County.
- Homebuyer education required: No
How to Apply for Broward County Mortgage Credit Certificate Program
Step 1: Work with a participating lender approved by the Housing Finance Authority of Broward County. The MCC must be obtained at the time of purchase. Contact the Housing Finance Authority at 954-357-4900 for a list of participating lenders.
Notes
The MCC provides a dollar-for-dollar reduction of federal income tax liability. Can be combined with other down payment assistance programs. Must occupy as principal residence within 60 days of closing.
