Permanently affordable homes priced in the $200,000s to $300,000s (Deferred Loan)
Homes remain permanently affordable through a ground lease with the land trust. Buyers purchase the home but the land trust retains ownership of the land, keeping prices affordable for future buyers as well.
Eligibility
- Income limits: 60% to 80% of Area Median Income (AMI)
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must be a first-time homebuyer.
- Geographic restrictions: Broward County. Homes have been developed in areas including Deerfield Beach and other scattered sites throughout the county.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes

Step 1: Contact the South Florida Community Land Trust to inquire about available homes and application requirements. Homebuyer counseling and access to down payment assistance programs are provided through partner organizations.
Notes
The land trust model ensures long-term affordability by retaining land ownership while selling the home to the buyer. Has developed and sold 13 homeownership units throughout Broward County including rehabilitated existing homes and newly constructed homes.
