First-Time Homebuyer Programs in Washington

Washington offers homebuyers some of the most flexible down payment assistance programs in the country through the Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC). Qualified buyers can pair a WSHFC first mortgage with Home Advantage DPA (up to 5% of the loan amount), Opportunity DPA (up to $15,000), HomeChoice for buyers with a disability (up to $15,000), Veterans DPA (up to $10,000), or the Covenant Homeownership Program (up to $150,000 for eligible buyers). All WSHFC programs require completing a five-hour homebuyer education class.
